    As a cornerstone of the Newcastle art scene, Wester champions creative expression and the power of art to inspire, offering a carefully curated selection of fine art, from paintings and sculptures to mixed media works. Designed to elevate both the art and the viewer’s experience, our gallery is a destination for those seeking beauty, inspiration, and a deeper connection to Newcastle’s vibrant art community. We pride ourselves on showcasing some of Australia’s most exciting emerging and established artists and craftspeople.

      • Curatorial advice before and during your exhibition
      • Gallery staff, exhibition installation and deinstallation assistance.
      • Exhibition opening night assistance, including paid bar service
      • Supervised gallery and sales during gallery hours. Artists is required to sit in the gallery at least one Saturday to meet potential clients. Advertised as ‘Meet the Artist’ on social media and via email. As well as be available for an ‘Artist Talk’ to take place, if required. Usually closing day.
      • Gallery designed and printed hard copy invites
      • Gallery designed e-invites and social media invites for distribution
      • Gallery designed pre sale catalogue for ease of collector purchase.
      • Online sales and product listings for ease of collector purchase.
      • Curated playlist for opening night featured on gallery’s Spotify account.
      • Limited number of price guides and/or programs for opening night reception.
      • E-newsletter promotion through Wester's extensive subscribed list.
      • Online listing and promotion through gallery’s Facebook and Instagram and other social media channels.
      • Documentation of exhibition and archiving on gallery website for
        posterity.
      • Advertisement via popular press and media. Including listing in Art Guide.
      • Refreshments for guests, including bottled water, soft drink, beer, wine and non alcoholic options provided by our sponsors, Young Henrys, Usher Tinkler Wines, Heaps Normal and NON. NO BYO
      • A standard catering package by our in-house caterer, Sea Salt & Sage catering. No outside catering allowed. Further catering options are available for opening night reception by our in-house caterer, Sea Salt & Sage. These must be organised a week prior to the opening night and come at an added extra cost
      • Wall mounted artist exhibition title.
      • Quality lighting with high colour rendition.
      • A-frame signage out front of gallery.

      1-week exhibition; opening Friday, running for 1 week (2 weekends) - $640

      2-week gallery exhibition; opening Friday, running for 2 weeks (3 weekends) - $1170

      Prices above include hire, install and deinstall assistance.

      All prices are GST exclusive.

    • The gallery takes 33% commission on all sales. (this includes GST) We recommend artist take this into account when pricing thei work.

      We require artists, once their proposal has been accepted, to sign an artist agreement outlining artist and gallery's rights and responsibilities.

    • In order to be considered for an exhibition at Wester Gallery we will need you to submit an exhibition proposal. This proposal should be a PDF document that includes the following:

      • Up to 10 images of artworks indicative of those to be displayed (JPEG, clearly labelled, no single image larger than 500k).
      • An Exhibition Statement outlining your plan for your proposed exhibition, including a description of artworks to be included and how space will be utilised.
      • An Artist Statement outlining your current practice. Artists may also include their Curriculum Vitae or links to their website.
      • Specification of desired time period or gallery spaces the artists wishes to exhibit in.
